Francisco Nuno Rodrigues (b. 2001, Madeira Island) is an artist and filmmaker.

At the heart of his practice lies an attraction to the experimental possibilities of refusal—an abrasive, yet generative, desire to agitate, subvert, and reject the now while imagining makeshift deviant tangents—unorthodox paths to elsewheres outside the bounds of truth. By juxtaposing poetic visuals with seemingly immiscible concepts, Rodrigues provokes moments of friction, transcending the defined to envision volatile, unseen spaces where identity, documentation, and narrative uncoil, multiply, and mutate. Inspired by confession, his work often sprouts from diaristic experiences that fuel a process of personal undoing—a looping cycle of transformation and contradiction. As Rodrigues describes it: “The unbound ‘self,’ of unknown origin, is both majestically crude and grotesque. I saw it in a vision.”

He is currently on hiatus working on his upcoming film.
