Francisco Nuno (b.2001, Madeira island, PT) works across moving image, performance, and installation.
His work focuses on an acidic act of grinding the immiscible - by following an attraction towards seemingly disparate stuff that he plays with, dissects, and manipulates. Francisco is interested in ‘the experimental qualities of refusal’ and in producing twisted lines of thought. He approaches these concerns by gathering material whose original meanings he rejects and unravels. Throughout his work, identity, play, fetish, and perversion reappear cyclically as they coil with biography, documentation, and narrative. Regurgitating the defined to imagine deviant tangents between fact and fiction as both blur, tease, and reveal.
Burning/loving/hating/kissing/tearing/becoming/unbecoming - on loop.
